THE HISTORY OF
Elephants Eye Lodge
Elephants Eye Lodge was originally a managers cottage from the Steen Berg Wine Farm dated 1682.
Mrs Crow then owned it and farmed chickens. The chicken farm did not do very well and she sold off the land, as plots, which is now the Morningside area of Tokai. 2700 square meters of the farm remains as Elephants Eye Lodge.
Elephants Eye Lodge has been operating as a B&B for 28 years with the current owners living in the original main house. The guest wing is across the courtyard and houses the swimming pool which is allocated to guests. Furthermore, guests have their own separate entrance and the property is secured with electric fencing and cameras linked to a security company. Off-street parking, beach swimming pool, airconditioning, DSTV are some of the amenities available to guests with free Internet access available even during load-shedding.
